We’re excited to share that Leiria, Portugal is getting its first-ever five-star hotel. The new Hotel Lis Garden is set to open in the summer of 2027, and it’s going to be a game-changer for the city’s tourism and business event scene.
The hotel is the latest project from the Hotel Lis brand, which already has locations in Batalha and Lisbon. But this will be their first five-star property, and the first hotel of this caliber in the Leiria area.
The new Hotel Lis Garden will have 100 rooms, plus an impressive 7,500 square meter events center that can accommodate up to 450 people. This state-of-the-art facility will be equipped with all the latest technology, from sound systems and video walls to streaming capabilities and digital access control.

According to the project’s press release, the events center is designed to host a wide range of functions, from small fairs and exhibitions to major corporate conferences. The goal is to establish Leiria as a hub for business tourism, helping to diversify the regional economy and combat seasonal fluctuations.
The 15 million euro investment in Hotel Lis Garden is being supported by Portugal’s Compete 2030 program and Turismo de Portugal. This support underscores the strategic importance of this project in strengthening Leiria’s position on the national and international tourism map.
We believe this new five-star hotel and events venue will be a game-changer for Leiria. It’s an exciting development that will bring more high-end tourism and business travel to the city, fueling economic growth and opportunity. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Leiria and this impressive new addition to its hospitality landscape.
